On Thursday (17 November) the military council released 16 prisoners including 12 Rohingyas from Buthidaung prison in the honor of 102nd Myanmar National Day.
A Rohingya close to Buthidaung prison told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that today the military council released 16 prisoners, where 12 are from Rohingya community, and rest are from Rakhine and Myanmar community. Among 12 Rohingyas, 8 are of Maungdaw and 4 are of Buthidaung. He also said, “The released 16 prisoners were convicted under Penal Code and other crimes.”
Another Rohingya said that on the night of Wednesday, the military council announced through Mayawati TV that they were going to released 6000 prisoners from different prisons amidst Myanmar in the honor of 102nd National Day, that will fall on today (Thursday).
