Shabe Bazar Namay-2 and Inndin Team Advance to Final in Rohingya Football Tournament

Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh – February 24, 2025

In a heartening display of skill and determination, two teams have advanced to the final stage of the Arakan Rohingya Football Federation Tournament, a beacon of hope for the Rohingya community living in challenging conditions.

Inndin Team Namay-8 and Shabe Bazar Namay-2 emerged victorious in their respective semifinals, setting the stage for a thrilling final match.

In the first semifinal held on February 23, Inndin Team Namay-8 secured a narrow 1-0 win over Murullah Team. The match was filled with tense moments and showcased the team’s resilience, which has become a symbol of unity and strength for the community.

Inndin Team Namay-8 emerged victorious after a thrilling match against Murullah Team.

The following day, in the second semifinal, Shabe Bazar Namay-2 demonstrated their dominance by defeating Nakkura Team Namay-5 with a 1-0 victory. A brilliant header goal by the team’s captain proved decisive, ensuring their place in the final.

The grand final is scheduled for February 26, 2025, at Camp-4 football field at 2:30 PM. Both teams are eagerly preparing to battle it out in what promises to be an exhilarating match that will crown the tournament champion.

For the Rohingya refugees, football is much more than a sport—it is a powerful symbol of hope, unity, and resilience.

Amid the daily hardships of displacement and uncertainty, the tournament has provided a much-needed escape and a chance for young people to dream of a brighter future.

The success of these teams not only brings pride to their communities but also reinforces the belief that even in the toughest times, hope and solidarity can prevail.

Namay-2 dominated the match, defeating Nakkura Team Namay-5 with a 1-0 victory. The captain of Namay-2 scored a brilliant header goal.

As the final match approaches, the entire community eagerly awaits a celebration of the Rohingya people’s talent, perseverance, and unyielding spirit.
