On Wednesday Arakan Army (AA) killed 19 military members including captain Soe Soe Paing when fighting took place between AA and military centering the military outpost seize by AA in Maungdaw township near Bangladesh border in northern Rakhine state.
The AA said in a statement that the seizure was in response to shelling on civilians and bombing seven villages by regimes in Maruk U township of Rakhine state on Sunday, where three civilians were killed and nine received serious injury.
The AA claims that they seized firearms and large numbers of ammunition, and also said some causalities are reported from their side.
On the other hand, 10 regime soldiers were reportedly killed by the AA near Myeik Wa village in Paletwa Township, on the same day, the armed group claimed.
The junta faces attacks and ambushes from resistance forces across the country nearly every day.
