Another man was killed as he went to collect wood outside his village in the Let We Dad Pa Zun Chaung of Northern Buthidaung.
Md Shafi along with five others were chased by a Buddhist nationalist gang as they ventured out to collect wood in the morning. While the others managed to run away, they lost touch of Shafi.
Shafi was later found dead in the woods on the same day at around 2pm in a brickfield near the hills.
Rohingya activists have long alleged that gangs backed by government forces have imposed a state of blockade on their settlements with the intention of starving them out. Later this year, international organisations including Amnesty International published reports that government enforced starvation is forcing tens of thousands of Rohingyas to leave for Bangladesh.
