On Saturday night some active members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) gunned down a Rohingya at camp 8W of Ukhiya while the miscreants severely beat one Mohammed Elias to death at Nayapara camp of Teknaf in the same time.

The bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar morgue for autopsy.

A Rohingya from camp 8W told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that on Saturday night around 10 pm, some of the ARSA hoodlums attacked a shop, started mass beating on a youth and took him away. The next morning the refugees found the youth dead and even saw the sign of stabbing and shooting on his body. The identification of the body has not been known yet.

It has been also learned that some of the miscreants of Shalman Shah group in establishing sovereignty, attacked one Mohammed Elias and brutally beat him to death.

The refugees expressed their concerns over what happening in the camps. They think that the miscreants are repeatedly committing such heinous crimes under the wings of hidden power from law enforcement agencies. They think this is true because the persons who commit these crimes hang around the camps under the nose of law enforcement agencies.

A Rohingya from camp 26 said, “Members of Shalman Shah group play role as the right hand of police in camp. Police uses this group to arrest the accused and even in night operation. So the said group dares to attack any Rohingya in camp and the general refugees fear to take stance against them.”
