Bangladeshi nationals have been found to be involved in kidnappings in and outside Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar through the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA). They engage in arms trade and kidnapping, and are using Bangladeshis to demand ransom. The abductees are released only if the ransom is agreed upon.

ARSA’s top-level leader Ataullah and military wing chief Khaled control everything from Myanmar, with different leaders in each Rohingya camp. An officer of the law and order force confirmed that the fired Major Zia was seen in the Rohingya camp area. Militants target Rohingya’s mental weakness, but it cannot be said that there is no fear of them getting involved in militancy, according to intelligence report.
