Five Rohingyas including two teenagers gunned down in Rakhine State

Military killed five Rohingyas including two teenagers on Monday in separate townships of Rakhine state in Myanmar.

On 5th September 2020 at around 2 pm, more than 100 military forces suddenly got in Pyin Shey (Lamba bill) hamlet of San Hnyin Wai area in Buthidaung township of Rakhine state, and forcefully took 9 Rohingyas including 3 teenagers from the village to carry their (Military’s) heavy bags. Afterwards, they have taken them to a conflict area where fighting between the Arakan Army (AA) and the Myanmar military was ongoing.

On 6th September 2020, Tuesday at around 10:30 am, two teenagers amidst those forcibly taken was returned dead. The teenagers were identified as Enayet Ullah (16) son of Noor Alam and Anowar Hussain (14) son of Mohammed Sultan.
“The military returned two teenagers’ bodies, and the rest 7 Rohingyas including 1 teenager whereabouts is unknown. We are seriously worried for them”, a villager said on condition of anonymity.

Another three Rohingyas were shot dead by the military on Monday at around 11:30 pm near U Soe Thit bridge while they were crossing the U Soe That canal, Min Bya. They are identified as Noor Mohammed (40), Nurul Islam (50) and Madoilla (45) of Hla Ma village of Min Bya townships of Rakhine state.

“Despite ICJ prosecution is going on, we are encountering various inhumane torture by Myanmar forces and losing our people day in day out”, says a Rohingya elder.
