Two Rohingyas are cheating with underprivileged people in the name of sending people in Malaysia through sea line. The traffickers are identified as Abu Siddique and Mohammed Anowar, both of them from Bag Gun Nah under Buthidaung no. 2 Ward. Few days back they took 43 lakh kyats each from ten Rohingyas. Later those ten people were sent to Bangladesh as a preparation of a sea voyage to Malaysia. But the traffickers did not seem to be taking any proper initiatives, and seeing the lengthy process, three of the guardians asked the trafficker to return the kyats. Instead the traffickers assaulted them grievously and then informed the BGP. The BGP in turn fined the three men 50,000 kyats.
Human trafficking had once become a booming criminal enterprise backed by the BGP, with many Rohingyas and Rakhines becoming rich at the misery of the desperate people. Human trafficking enabled many people to escape the death traps of Arakan, but many also ended up in the notorious jungle camps of Thailands or as slaves in the country’s fishing industry. Thai authorities clamped down on the traffickers after an international uproar followed the discovery of mass graves in jungle camps where Rohingyas and some Bangladeshis were being held as prisoners for ransom.
