Rakhine region: On Friday (7 October) around 8:30 am a landmine exploded at a Rohingya village in Buthidaung, where a Rohingya man became the victim of mine explosion and received serious injury over his legs and other parts of his body who is now in critical condition.
The landmine victim is Mohammed Salim of Guda Pyin Village in Buthidaung.
The locals said that on Friday morning the Myanmar military troops entered Guda Pyin Village and asked U Zakariya and Mohammed Salim to come out of their homes. As they both came out, one of the military was talking to Salim by walking, where a landmine exploded and they both received serious injury.
The locals also said that the military troops took injured Salim to their camp in Jai Ning Pya Village for treatment.
A Rohingya from the village who declined to be named said that since September 24 to October 6 AA members were deployed around the house of Salim. And the villagers believed that the landmine was put by AA.
