Buthidaung: On Tuesday (18 October) around 10:30 am, the military council fired heavy weapons toward a plantation field near Dainet Pyin village of Buthidaung, where a bullet hit a Rohingya man to death while he was working in crop field.
The deceased is identified as Mohammed Younus (45) of Dainet Pyin village in Buthidaung.
“There has been no battle since few days. But military council intentionally fired heavy weapon targeting Rohingya farmer Younus who received severe injury over his head and abdomen. The villagers rushed him to Buthidaung hospital and the on duty doctor declared him dead,” a villager said under anonymity.
Killing, raping, and abducting Rohingya civilians by both military and rebel group Arakan Army became an usual matter in Rakhine state due to inaction of international community against Myanmar.
“We Rohingya civilians still remaining in Rakhine state are the victims of rape, murder, abduction and force extortion by both AA and law enforcement agencies in many ways,” another Rohingya from the village added.
“We are spending days and nights like prisoners in our own country. When we go out of the house to collect the daily necessities, we have to go out without the safety of our lives and we don’t know if we will be able to return home or if our family members are safe at home,” according to the villager.
