Two Rohingyas have been found killed near Maungdaw town.
Police and locals have identified the victims as Shona Miah s/o Dudu Miah and Md Ali, s/o Monu, both of them from Bura Siddhar para in Maungdaw town. Police have taken their corpses for autopsy. Initial reports suggest the victims had their throats slit. Their lifeless bodies were discovered on Wednesday at around 1am.
Our correspondent says Ali is a well-known government collaborator, while Shona is also reputed to have assisted him. They are notorious for pointing out innocent men to the security forces. Many of those arrested with information provided by the murdered duo, have been brutally tortured in custody.
The exact circumstances surrounding their death are yet to be clear.
