Thousands of Rohingyas have flocked to Mun Gala after Tatmadaw attacks have killed more than a hundred people in the village tracts of Sau Raw Gazi Bil, Bor Gazi Bil, Sa Li Frang, Ra Bai La, Bali Bazaar, Lound Don and Doe Tan during the weekend.

However, the village authorities in Mun Gala, backed by the Tatmadaw have ordered outsiders to stay out. As a result, the escapees are living in open fields outside the village, the majority of them being in a field north of Mun Gala. The authorities have even refused permission for the Rohingyas to light fire to cook food.

The humanitarian situation is dire as the Rohingyas have little food or medicine with them. Many of the children are suffering from diarrhoea and locals say it is only a matter of time before the humanitarian situation will get completely out of control.

Most of the people in the fields are the women and children as the men flee to the jungles. There are many displaced people from other village tracts in Maungdaw North that have been attacked by the Tatmadaw.

No one left in Sau Raw Gazi Bil, Bor Gazi Bil, Sa Li Frang and Ra Bai La where more than a hundred have been killed

Tatmadaw intensified their offensives against the village tracts of Sau Raw Gazi Bil, Bor Gazi Bil, Sa Li Frang and Ra Bai La after villagers armed with sticks repulsed an initiative by soldiers to rape women and loot valuables. After initially retreating, Tatmadaw retaliated with helicopter gunships and heavy weapons killing scores, with some sources claiming that even by conservative estimates, more than a hundred people died in the assault that continued till Sunday.

Children killed in Doe Tan, mass of humanity seen fleeing Bali Bazaar and Lound Don

On Monday, Tatmadaw entered two neighbourhoods of Doe Tan firing gunshots at fleeing Rohingyas. At least two children aged under ten years old fell to army gunfire during this time. Few of the villagers were detained by the Tatmadaw as they tried to escape. The Tatmadaw also looted valuables. Men in civilian clothes whom locals claim are Buddhist settlers (Nataala) were seen accompanying the Tatmadaw during the raid.

The Tatmadaw entered the other neighbourhoods of Doe Tan once again on Tuesday. Here they went from house to house where in the name of searching for illegal money, they touched the private parts of women.

Thousands of villagers were seen escaping from Bali Bazar and Lound Don on Monday morning. Videos have appeared showing terrified Rohingyas, mostly women and children running away from the village tracts.

The exact circumstances are not clear at the moment. A huge contingent of Tatmadaw forces are known to have entered Bali Bazar on Sunday afternoon, armed with heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, with helicopter gunships circling overhead. It is reported the attack that followed have resulted in mass civilian casualties.

Tatmadaw entered Lound Don on Monday morning following which video clips were forwarded to us and other Rohingya media outlets showing hundreds of terrified Rohingya civilians, mostly women and children running away from the village tract.

Three sisters were raped in front of each other when Tatmadaw raided Singri para neighbourhood of the village tract.

The military forces entered the village at around 6.10 pm on Monday and went house to house where they touched the private parts of the women in the name of searching for illegal materials. In one of the houses they entered, the found three sisters. They proceeded to gang rape the sisters and made each of them watch what the other was going through.

There are unconfirmed reports that scores might have been killed in these two village tracts.heli 3
