Today morning starting from 7 am, heavy weapons were fired from the No. 8 Na kha kha Police Battalion, in the south of Buthidaung Township towards the mountains in the west, and the Arakan Army (AA) responded with heavy weapons to police firing. Between the clash of AA and Myanmar Junta, a Rohingya has been killed and many others have been injured.
The identification those who have been impacted by the fighting have not been disclosed yet.
“Tha Peik Taung (Sein Daung) is a Rohingya village located near by no, 8 Na kha kha Police outpost, where bout 300 house hold with around 2000 Rohingya people live. They are fleeing the clash after many received injury”, according to a Rohingya from Buthidaung.
A local Rohingya from the village, who declined to be named, told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that initially there were clashes between the police and the Arakan Army, but the clash became severely escalated after the military and police joined together. As a result, many Rohingyas received bullet injuries, where one died on the spot.
Another Rohingya from Buthidaung said that AA blocked the Tha Peik Taung village and Rohingya villagers are fleeing to safety place on boat.
According to local source, firing is continuously going on as of the writing of this report.
