Teknaf- Myanmar will be purchasing Indian developed torpedoes, a naval weapon system with an explosive warhead.
The torpedo is designed to be used for destroying submarines.
The deal with India comes few weeks after Bangladesh purchased submarines from China.
Earlier India has sold supplied a sonar navigation and surveillance system, widely believed to be a response to Bangladesh’s submarine technology.
Myanmar however does not have its own submarines.
While tensions have rapidly deteriorated between the two countries, analysts have not yet started talking about a cold war in the region.
