On 5 December 2022, 13 Rohingya bodies were found dead at the Barlar village in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region. The dead bodies were found on the side of Tabinshwehti road. “They are now at Yangon General Hospital for postmortem,” tweeted Ro Nay San Lwin, a Rohingya Activist. “I surprised when I heard that they have been beaten to death. Who has responsibility for this? International community must raise their concern immediately,” said Ali Jannah Hussin, a Rohingya Youth Activist from a camp in Bangladesh. According to the Junta’s propaganda channel on Telegram, they posted that they might have died due to lack of oxygen while smuggled in a car.
