On Monday, 14 Rohingya refugees who left Bangladesh for Nepal were handed to Immigration Department by Kathmandu Police.
SSP Ashok Singh, Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range said, “Some new Rohingyas arrived. We had the data of previous ones. Therefore, we handed them to the immigration.”
Director-General of the Immigration Department Narayan Prasad Bhattarai confirmed the refugees came in contact via the police. “Their arrival is being investigated. Much can’t be said at the moment as investigation is underway. We can’t say now if they arrived here legally or illegally.”
According to the source, these Rohingyas reached Kathmandu via land route.
