Police arrested 19 Rohingyas and four Bangladeshi brokers for entering Bangladesh from Myanmar through Teknaf border in Cox’s Bazar. They were arrested from a house in Naittong Para of Teknaf municipality at 11 pm on Friday.
Six women, six men, seven children of Rohingyas were detained.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station, Abdul Halim, said, ‘I accompanied by police forces conducted a raid at the house of a man named Amin Sharif in that area on the news of intrusion from Myanmar. At that time, 19 Myanmar men, women and children were detained. Four Bangladeshi brokers have been arrested in this incident. They are being interrogated, why and how they came here.”
“Rakhine’s condition is unstable till now. As a result, Rohingyas are fleeing in search of safety and a better life.”
OC said that legal action will be taken in this regard.
