On Tuesday morning the military representatives from 24 countries visited Rohingya camp, where they inspected Child Friendly Space (CFS) and discussed with camp authorities on various issues at camp 4 extension.
During the discussion, meeting the Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner, Shamsuddoza discussed many issues including refugee relocation to Bhasanchar and the condition of refugee camp in Ukhiya.
Aung Mying, a refugee community leader who met the delegation said that a member of delegation team from the US greeted the Rohingya leaders and asked their condition in camp.
Aung also said, “At the end of the meeting, the delegation spoke to refugee leaders, where the leaders sought the intervention and cooperation of international community to end the Rohingya crisis and to take footsteps so that refugees can return to home country Myanmar with civil rights, safety and dignity.”
He continued, “23 refugee leaders including women talked to delegation team and expressed their feelings”, and he added that refugee leaders also said it is five years ended they came in Bangladesh, but no steps have been taken to return them to Myanmar with safety and dignity.
They visited the camp after completion of ‘Indo Pacific Armies Management Seminar’ with the participation of senior military officers of 24 countries on the theme ‘Possibilities and Challenges of Maintaining Peace and Security in the Indo-Pacific Ocean’.
Later, they left the camp for Coxs Bazar.
