On 23 August around 7:30am military council forces arrested 27 Rohingyas from the check point of Oakpon Military Council in Zeepinkwin village-tract, Kyangin Township, while they (Rohingyas) were crossing the check point in a vehicle, according to a source familiar with the police.
The Military Council arrested 21 Rohingya men and 6 women. Furthermore, the individual responsible for transporting them, identified as Nay Hlaing Oo, was also apprehended.
As of now, reports indicate that 27 Rohingya have been stationed at the Kyangin police camp. A case has been registered under the immigration act.
Ro Nay San Lwin, one of the co-founders of the Free Rohingya Coalition, has stated that over 1,000 Rohingyas who entered the Ayeyarwaddy region illegally since the 2021 coup have been apprehended by Military Council forces.
