On Monday, Myanmar village administrators of the Western region (Rakhine and Chin) claimed they will resign if the State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi neglects the investigation process of the death of one of the village admin who was killed recently by their very own Myanmar soldiers.
Regarding the matter, 68 village chiefs from Minbya township sent a written appeal to the state counsellor, military commander-in-chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and deputy parliamentary speaker Aye Thar Aung to look into the death of U Nyan Thein, the head of Satetaya village, and to seek justice for him.
According to witnesses and family members of the victims, government troops entered Satetaya Village at around 11 p.m. on 11th December 2019. They hit the village administrator U Nyan Thein with rifle stocks before executing him. They also shot dead Daw Phyu Phyu Win, who lived opposite the administrator.
