On 4 July 2022, three Rohingya fishing boats drowned in the sea near Akyab, while the boatmen were returning to Guwaillar Deil harbour after catching fish.
Upon receiving the news, the locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue the boatmen. However, one individual is missing.
A Local Rohingya told the Rohingya Khobor that fishing is the main income source for the people. They are dependent on fishing as there is no alternate way to make their livelihood.
