February 11, 2024 – In a devastating turn of events, a fighter jet, reportedly belonging to the State Administration Council (SAC), unleashed an aerial attack on Paik Thei (also known as Pike Thiy), causing significant destruction and forcing the Rohingya internally displaced people to seek refuge in Yardanapon village.

As flames engulfed Paik Thei, witnesses reported that the entire village was burning, painting a grim picture of the havoc wreaked by the bombing. The attack has resulted in at least seven fatalities and over twenty individuals sustaining injuries, as confirmed by sources on the ground.

Yardanapon village has become a temporary shelter for those fleeing the violence, as the Rohingya internally displaced population endeavors to find safety amidst the chaos.

This incident marks a significant escalation in the violence affecting the Rohingya community, a group that has faced long-standing persecution and displacement within the region.
