Just after a day of capture 16 UEHRD staffs were released by The Arakan Army (AA) for having “No Connection” with the Myanmar military also known as Tatmadaw.
Yesterday, the AA said in a statement that it turned over the 16 men to the elders of Kan Thay village in Buthidaung township at around 7 a.m. The hostages work for “Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development” (UEHRD) and were captured by AA while travelling from Sittwe(Akyab) to Buthidaung township with “Aung Than Gwan Express”.
