On Saturday (1 July) around 3 pm, miscreants beat an accused person, in a murder case, to death in Bhasanchar Rohingya camp of Noakhali.
Deceased is Saiful Islam (28) son of Iman Hossain of cluster no. 53 of Bhasanchar Rohingya camp.
The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital on Sunday (July 2) evening. Earlier, he died while undergoing treatment at the 20-bed Bhasanchar Hospital in the early hours of the same day.
According to the police, due to previous enmity, someone beat up Saiful and left him near the balcony stairs of room no. 16 of cluster no. 55. Saiful was lying there with a bloody head. On receiving the information, the police rescued him from the spot around 3 pm on Saturday and later admitted him to the 20-bed Bhasanchar Hospital. He died in the early hours of the night while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhasanchar police station Humayun Kabir said that there are two cases against the deceased including a murder case in Bhasanchar police station. Initially, it is believed that he was killed due to previous enmity. He had serious injuries on his head. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. The legal action in this incident is under process.
