On 28 September, Arakan Front Party (AFP) stated that they will not convey any speech in state-owned media for the 2020 election campaign.
U Kyaw Zaw Oo, spokesman of Arakan Front Party asserted that the party sent a letter to the Union Election Commission (UEC) stating that they will not participate in the campaign program of MRTV and state-owned newspapers.
The common complaint against the state-owned media outlets is the discriminatory policies of those entities.

Rakhine State
Arakan Front Party (AFP) was formed by Dr. Aye Maung, the founder of the Rakhine National Development Party, after he broke away from the ANP. In March 2019, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of high treason and incitement for making an inflammatory speech against the government and accusing it of oppressing Rakhine people. The party is now led by his son, Tin Maung Win, and colleagues.
