Armed Police Battalion (APBN) has arrested Sabbir Ahmed alias Lalu (30), the absconding accused in the ‘six murder’ case, at Balukhali Camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. Lalu is the son of Abdul Motaleb of Camp No. 12 of Block-E. Yesterday Sunday (June 11) around 5:30 pm, he was arrested in front of Ukhia Camp-18 Block M/19. He is the top leader of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).
On Monday (June 12) the matter was confirmed by 8-APBN Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Farooq Ahmed.
Farooq said that a fugitive accused of the ‘six murder’ case is staying in front of the block of Maynarghona Rohingya Camp-18. Later APBN members raided there. Lalu was arrested when he tried to escape. A walkie-talkie set was recovered from him.
He also said that Lalu admitted to be involved in various murder cases. There is the ‘six murder,’ weapons, and other cases against him in Ukhia police station. The officer said that he was handed over to the Ukhia police station after the arrest.
