A Rohingya boy narrowly escaped with his life as Rakhine miscreants attempted to cut his throat at Fudur Kul, Pathor Keela.
At around sunset on Saturday, Hala Shuna was returning home when some drunk Rakhine men from a roadside pub called out to him and said they had some important task for him. When Shuna approached the men, they dragged him inside and tried to cut his throat with a knife.
His cries however alerted his friends and family members nearby and they managed to rush to the spot. The attack has however left Shuna with a serious injury to his throat and he had to be taken for medical treatment.
Following the rescue, the attackers blamed the Rohingyas for causing trouble in the neighbourhood and cursed the Muslims in obscene language. Local sources however confirmed the situation has not escalated since then
