On Monday State Minister for Foreign Affair Shahriar Alam sought Japan’s cooperation to repatriate Rohingyas from Cox’s Bazar for the sake of regional peace and stability. Alam sought this help while Iwana Kiminori, Japanese newly appointed ambassador to Bangladesh met Shariar.
In the meeting, they discussed Japan’s development assistance, human resource development, Rohingya repatriation, bilateral interests of cooperation in various multilateral forums.
The State Minister appreciated Japan’s continued assistance in the repatriation of Rohingyas from Cox’s Bazar.
Ambassador Iwama sought the cooperation of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in the discharge of his duties. In response, the state minister assured full cooperation.
