On June 13, the Rohingya Youth Association Rohingya (RYA) joined the “Black4Rohingya” campaign by wearing Black T-shirts in the Refugee Camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. This is RYA first to organise youth in the camps to join the international solidarity campaign across social media platforms.
Black4Rohingya is a Protect the Rohingya initiative which began in 2013. It is an online campaign calling for Solidarity with the Rohingya. #Black4Rohingya was Initially celebrated on 5 July 2013 and was later shifted to 13 June from 2014 onwards in order to commemorate those Rohingyas who were massacred in Sittwe in Arakan State in the second week of June 2012.
RYA lauded the founder of Protect the Rohingya which is an international solidarity Campaign led by non-Rohingya, based in South Africa.
RYA is an inclusive Network founded and run by Rohingya in the refugee camps of Bangladesh. Their core objectives are to voice for Rohingya education and to reflect the voice of the Rohingya youth.
