On Saturday, Congressman Brad Sherman from San Fernando Valley, California tweeted, “The Burma/Myanmar National Unity Government (NUG) won’t truly be a National Unity Government until one of its top 37 leaders (Executive Cabinet, Ministers, Deputy Ministers) and a representative of the National Assembly is held by a representative of the Rohingya people and until the NUG specifically endorses a plan to give full citizenship papers to #Rohingya born in Burma/Myanmar or in the refugee camps.”
He has also met Aung Kyaw Moe an ethnic Rohingya who serves as a human rights advisor to the National Unity Government of Burma/Myanmar but does not hold a position within the Ministry of Human Rights, or within the NUG.
