Tatmadaw personal assaulted four children in Zammoinna, Maungdaw North for keeping their shops open.
On Thursday, Tatmadaw forces went to a small shop area in the village tract and asked the shopkeepers, all of them children aged around 12 or younger, under whose permission they had reopened the shops. Following this, they proceeded to beat up the children.
The soldiers then told them these shops must be demolished as they were built without proper government authorisation.
In recent days, many shops and homes owned by Rohingyas have been demolished. Last year, the state government said around 3,500 structures belonging to the Muslim community will be knocked down as they did not have government permission.
