This month, Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) campaign has started in the Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar. The vaccination program is going to be implemented from October to November 2021.
Children older than one or above will have their oral vaccine that will lower the risk of cholera infection in the refugee camps.
Besides OCV, the Covid-19 vaccination program also continues to serve vaccines to the refugees who are aged 50 or above in Rohingya camps.
Awareness, Health education, and meaningful engagement of the affected communities are also playing an effective role to enhance resilience. Such initiatives slowly became effective to prevent and control cholera, COVID-19, and other communicable diseases in the Rohingya camps.
