Today (Friday) around 8 pm Myanmar military shelled mortar with helicopter at No Man’s Land where mainly Rohingyas are located. In the shelling, one Rohingya died and many received severe injuries including children and women, most of whose organs found separated.
The body of the victim who is deceased has been identified as Akbal son of Monir Hussein of No Man’s Land refugee camp. The exact amount of those injured is yet unknown.
A Rohingya from No Man’s Land who declined to be named told Rohingya Khobor (RK) over phone that despite the continuous firing of mortar shells by the Myanmar military, Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) is not allowing the Rohingyas in No Man’s Land to enter the Bangladesh border. As a result, knowing the certainty of death, the Rohingyas have to stay there running hither and thither taking life in hand.
Another Rohingya said, “Although the injured have been taken to Kutupalong Hospital, general refugees are not being allowed to enter the territory of Bangladesh in search of emergency security.”
Kyaw Mint, a refugee elder told RK that shelling of Myanmar military in Bangladesh border has been happening for a few days, is a well founded plan to launch mortar shells in No Man’s Land where Rohingyas locate, which became crystal clear through today’s shelling.
A deadly situation is prevailing around the area.
