Maungdaw: On Wednesday (Nov 2) around 7:30 am an explosion took place at the No. 5 Border Guard Battalion, which is located at the entrance of Maungdaw city, at the western border. Six people including officers received severe injuries.
Two explosions were heard from above Maungdaw in the border guard battalion and it is not yet clear whether the explosion was a mine explosion or whether a heavy weapon was shot.
“The two officers have been sent to Maungdaw Hospital with injuries. The exact number of other casualties has not yet been confirmed,” an employee of Maungdaw Township said.
As a result of the explosion, six people, including two officers were taken to Maungdaw Hospital for treatment, but it is said that there may be other casualties.
In Maungdaw Township, there are frequent clashes between the Rakhine Army (AA) and the Myanmar army, and according to the statistics, the military council is using nearly ten thousand forces to fight.
