A fire broke out in Camp 11, Block E, Sub-block E-15 at around 2:35 p.m. on March 22, according to local sources, damaging several shelters and forcing residents to flee.
The fire spread quickly through the closely built shelters, creating panic among residents as flames moved across the area.
“We were sleeping when the fire started. Suddenly we saw flames and everyone started running,” one resident told Rohingya Khobor.
Another resident said, “The houses are very close to each other, so the fire spread very fast. We could not save many things.”
As of now, there are no confirmed reports of casualties. However, multiple shelters have been damaged, leaving several families affected.
Community volunteers and residents worked together to control the fire and assist those impacted.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are expected to investigate the incident.
Residents expressed concern following the fire and called for stronger safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
