On 27 August 2022 (Saturday) afternoon, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) said in a press briefing that earliar last Friday night they detained the terrorist Nobi Hussein group led five members including three Bangladeshi Natonals from Balukhali camp of Ukhiya. Four lakh and ten thousand pieces yaba, one foreign rifle, one foreign pistol, SBBL, and seventeen bullets were recovered from their possession.
Abdu Razzak alias Razzak majee, Eliyas, Shahed alias Azizul Hoque and Saiful Islam were arrested. Among them Razzak and Eliyas are Rohingya and the rest are Bangladeshi nationals.
Khairul Islam Sarkar a RAB personnel said Nobi Hussein group is involved in yaba smuggling from Teknaf to Ukhiya. Nobi Hussein is a wanted terrorist. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) declared award for those who will able to provide the location of Nobi Hussein.
The conscious circles of the camp claim that Nabi Hussein and his companions are not seen in the camp for the past few months. He is hiding under the wing of some influential Bangladeshi nationals.
On the basis of information, RAB managed to arrest the five members of Nobi Hussein group along with yaba and illegal arms.
The arrested have been sent to Ukhiya police station under the relevant acts.
