On Monday Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen urged Indonesia and ASEAN to play a proactive role to facilitate the early repatriation of the Rohingya refugees sheltered in Bangladesh.
Minister Momen proposed this during a discussion with Indonesia’s ambassador to Bangladesh Heru Hartanto Subolo at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The only possible solution in this regard is the repatriation of the displaced people to their homeland, the Rakhine State of Myanmar,” Momen said.
During the discussion, many other issues were discussed on Bangladesh-Indonesia ties.
Minister Momen wished the ambassador all success and assured him of all possible support during his tenure in Bangladesh.
