On Friday, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said at the 8th Bali Process Conference on Transitional Crimes related to Human Trafficking, that the Rohingya issue could pose a threat to peace and security in the Bangladesh region and urged all countries to actively participate with Myanmar in order to return the Rohingya to their homeland as soon as possible in a sustainable manner.
He also said that Australia’s support is needed to put international pressure on Myanmar for the return of the Rohingyas. In addition to providing humanitarian aid, Australia should consider the Rohingya under its refugee visas, he added.
At the end of the conference, Moman said that he also met with the Indonesian Foreign Minister and asked for Indonesia’s support to engage with ASEAN regarding the Rohingya issue and to increase pressure on Myanmar for the return of the Rohingya.
