Concerns are growing among Rohingya refugees in camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh over the current level of food assistance, which many say is insufficient to meet basic nutritional needs.
According to community members, monthly food support ranges from 7 to 12 US dollars per person, an amount they say does not cover essential food requirements for an entire month.
Residents across the camps report that families are reducing meal portions, skipping meals, and adopting coping strategies to manage shortages. Community members say these conditions are contributing to increased hunger and vulnerability.
Refugees said they are seeking the ability to meet basic daily needs, including access to adequate and nutritious food. Many described the current assistance levels as falling short of what is required for survival.
The situation has led to calls for humanitarian agencies and international donors to review and strengthen food support programs, as concerns continue over the long-term impact on health and well-being.
