Two boats, carrying a total of thirty eight Rohingya refugees, were apprehended by Myanmar Navy officers nearby Tanintharyi on Thursday. Devoid of food, water and fuel, the group of men, women and children were hopelessly revolving near an island of Tanintharyi, on their attempt of fleeing to Malaysia from their respective camps Dar Paing and Thae Chaung Akyab; when the 5508 Military boat caught their sight, rescued and seized them in order to be taken back.
A total of one hundred and ninety nine Rohingyas have been rescued throughout the month, while attempting to flee. It seems that the Myanmar government is influencing the Rohingyas into attempting quick escapes, to eventually rescue and capture them into handing over their NVC cards.
