On Saturday after a program of Ahsania Mission at Dhanmondi of capital, the Home Minister Asaduzzamman Khan Kamal said that Rohingyas are being pushed back to Myanmar who try to enter Bangladesh following the ongoing conflict between Arakan Army (AA) and Myanmar military in northern Rakhine state.
The Home Minister said, “Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard are on high alert to prevent Rohingyas from crossing the border into Bangladesh. They are taking effective measures at the border. After that, the Rohingyas who are trying to enter Bangladesh are being pushed back and sent back.”
The Home Minister said, ”Yesterday (Friday), a Rohingya family was staying at the Zero Line near the Myanmar border. Zero line means the line between Myanmar border and Bangladesh border. On reaching that camp, we found one person killed and several injured by bullets. We strongly condemn this incident. We will soon change this position of them, this ammunition so that they stop always continuing that effort. Our foreign ministry is working on this. We think they will realize their mistake. They will be restrained.”
The minister also mentioned that Bangladesh will not engage in war with Myanmar, but wants a peaceful settlement.
