Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the increasing crime trend including kidnapping in Rohingya camps is under the attention of the law enforcement agencies. Crimes like theft, robbery, murder-disappearance, kidnapping-ransom and drugs will not be allowed in Rohingya camps. These crimes will be strictly controlled.
The minister said these things during the 26th meeting of the standing committee related to the Ministry of Home Affairs at Shahid ATM Zafar Auditorium of Cox’s Bazar district administration on Sunday afternoon.
It has been learnt that shootings and killings often happen in Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. Incidents of kidnapping and ransom are happening one after another in camps. Fear prevails among the residents of Ukhia and Teknaf due to clashes and gunfire across the border.
