Akyab- An IDP camp resident died after not getting treatment amid a complete absence of medical facilities in the area.

Md Yunus, 30, from Se Thamma Gyi IDP camp died after suffering three months and had an enlarged prostate as he was unable to urinate.

Yunus and his relatives had not gone to Akyab (Sittwe) General Hospital where staff are known to have killed Muslim patients.

IDP camp residents in the southern townships including Akyab are suffering from an almost complete absence of medical facilities as the government hospitals refuse to treat Muslim patients and severely restrict the activities of medical NGOs like MSF on allegations they favour Muslims.

Rohingya activists allege the systematic deprivation of medical treatment is a well devised strategy to force the Rohingyas to migrate to Bangladesh.

The deceased leaves behind his wife and his three children.
