Yesterday, 81,000 textbooks on Myanmar language grammar, mathematics, history, general science and other subjects were handed over from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Bangladesh to Rohingya children’s learning center.
Komori Takashi, JICA senior representative made the donation to Sheldon Yett, representative of UNICEF Bangladesh in the presence of RRRC Shah Rezwan Hayat. Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh and Ito Naoki was also present during the ceremony.
These learning materials were funded by Japan and will be used for the implementation of the Myanmar Curriculum Pilot which was approved two years ago in January 2020.
Ambassador Naoki said, “We hope this assistance will contribute to the learning of Rohingya children. I believe it is crucial for them to learn the language, history and culture of Myanmar so that they may reintegrate into the society after repatriating to their home country.”
Earlier, Japan has assured to Bangladesh that it will make an effort to ease Rohingya crisis.
