On Wednesday the Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Takei Shunsuke, said that Japan will support Bangladesh on Rohingya issue but sustainable and dignified repatriation of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals will have to wait for resumption of democracy in Myanmar.
Shunsuke said this in response of the Prime Minister said, ‘Japan can talk to Myanmar about Rohingya repatriation.’
The talk between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs was held at Ganababan in Dhaka on Wednesday (November 23).
During the discussion the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “Rohingyas are now a heavy burden for Bangladesh. Because five years have passed since they took refuge in Bangladesh. Due to the birth of new babies in the refugee camps, their number is increasing.”
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim reported this in the briefing after the meeting.
