1. The Anti-Terrorism Central Committee of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, exercising authority in accord with Subsection (e) of Section 6 and Subsection (b) of Section 72 of the Counter-Terrorism Law declared the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and United League of Arakan (ULA)/ Arakan Army (AA) armed groups as terrorist groups under Notifications 1/2024 and 2/2024 dated 2 September with the approval of the Union government.
2. These terrorist groups committed terror acts by firing at security forces, lives and properties of the people, vital infrastructures, State-owned buildings, vehicles, machinery, accessories, roads, bridges, electric towers and densely populated towns and villages to face severe loss and damage, blowing up mines, firing heavy weapons from far distance, dropping bombs, killing innocent people and members of the Sangha and recruiting new members by force.
3. Moreover, they destroyed universities, colleges, and schools. They abducted teachers and students with intimidation and murder in order to break down the future of the State and deprive them of human resources.
4. Our political parties issued this joint statement and steadfastly oppose and condemn terror acts that cause social problems for non-military target innocent people, intentionally.
5. As such, our political parties, on behalf of millions of people, fully supported the declaration against MNDAA, TNLA and AA armed groups as terrorist groups, and we will oppose their terror acts forever by signing the joint statement.
