Tatmadaw personal have burned the entire village and marketplace of Keyari parang and their collaborators have looted most of the houses owned by Rohingya Muslims, according to our correspondent in the area.
The army entered the village in the morning for the second time in two days. On Wednesday, the army shot dead a man and a child and set fire to the houses on the fringes of the village. On Thursday however, the army launched a full scale attack reportedly using rocket launchers.
Before the attack, civilian collaborators from the Rakhine community entered the houses and looted every item of value.
All villagers had fled the restive village tract earlier in anticipation of an imminent military attack.
Many other villages of Maungdaw remain deserted as Rohingya Muslims take shelter in the hills and forests.
