A Rohingya man was beaten to death in Kyauktaw while herding cattle near his village of Phi Thang.
Our correspondent in the region reports that Azizul Haque (45) was attacked by a gang led by Buddhist monks from the Rakhine hamlet Kyawn Chaing on Saturday at around 9am.
He was found in an sub conscious state when friends and relatives went to rescue him. He died on the way back to his hamlet.
Muslim men traveling away from their neighborhoods in search of a livelihood are frequently targeted by Buddhist nationalist gang, with hundreds being killed in the last few years. Rohingya activists allege this is a systematic blockade implemented by the government to deny the Muslims access to livelihood sources and starve them out.
