Buthidaung- Hlun Htein personal and village authorities fined a man for marrying without proper permission.
On Thursday night, they went to the house of Abdul Malek in Kyaun Taung and threatened the man with arrest and torture. The victim had to pay 500,000 kyats to the authorities.
Under the laws of Arakan state, Rohingya Muslims are not allowed to marry without permission from village authorities.
