Cox’s Bazar: This morning an unknown group kidnapped a Rohingya teenager while he went to do ziyarat at a graveyard of camp-9 in Ukhiya. The kidnappers demanded a large amount of ransom money that is fully impossible to victim’s guardian to meet.
The victim is a minor who is the son of Dil Mohammed resides at G6 block of camp 11.
Dil Mohammed, father of the victim told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that on Friday (7 October) morning his son went to a graveyard in camp-9 for ‘ziyarat’. They searched him everywhere for he didn’t return home until 8 am.
‘’At around 11 am, some one phoned me and said that my son Mansur has been kidnapped, and demanded ransom of 100,000 tk, or else threatened kill my child,” Dil Mohammed said.
“The kidnappers let my child to talk with me over phone for a few seconds, where my son said that he has been taken by a CNG (vehicle) and confined in a room. No sooner he told this the kidnappers snatched the phone and provoked me showing dreadful threat,” he further added.
The victim’s guardian believe that local national’s involvement is obvious, as Mansur was taken with CNG and kept in a separate room after kidnapping.
The victim has not been recovered till the writing of this report, according to local source.
Any actions from law enforcement agencies to recover the victim has not been seen yet.
